How can my church get involved in mission work?

Could God be leading your church to inspire others into mission? Be part of the story God is writing around the world through SIM, by sending and supporting missionaries

Why mission matters for churches

Mission isn’t just something for individuals, it’s for the whole church. Jesus calls us to make disciples of all nations, and that begins with prayer. By engaging in mission, your church extends its ministry far beyond its walls. It joins in God’s global mission, sharing the gospel with the nations.

How can my church get involved in mission?
Every church—regardless of size or location—has a divine calling to participate in the Great Commission. Missions is not just for a few; it is the shared responsibility of every believer and every congregation to make Christ known to the nations.

Your church can get involved in missions through four key pathways:

1. Pray – Begin by praying regularly for missionaries, unreached people groups, and mission fields. Prayer ignites passion and opens doors that resources alone cannot. “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” – James 5:16

2. Give – Support mission work financially. Your giving helps send missionaries, build schools, plant churches, and bring relief to communities in need. “How shall they preach unless they are sent?” – Romans 10:15 Go – Encourage members to participate in short-term mission trips or long-term service. Missions changes both those who go and those who receive.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” – Matthew 28:19

4. Partner – Connect with mission organizations like SIM (Salone Interior Missions) to learn, collaborate, and engage in ongoing mission efforts. Together, we can extend God’s kingdom across borders. Missions is the heartbeat of God. When the church joins that heartbeat—through prayer, giving, going, and partnering—it becomes a living expression of Christ’s love to the world.
