Become a Mission Worker
How do I become a mission worker?
Becoming a mission worker is not just about traveling—it’s about answering God’s call to serve, love, and transform lives through the gospel. Every believer has a role in God’s mission, and those who sense a deeper call to go can begin the journey through intentional steps of preparation, obedience, and partnership.
1. Surrender to God’s Call
The first step begins in your heart. Ask God to clarify His purpose for your life and give you the grace to say, “Here am I, send me.” Mission work starts with a willing and obedient spirit.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs3:5-6
2. Prepare Spiritually and Practically
Grow in your faith through prayer, Bible study, and active service in your local church. Develop practical skills such as teaching, leadership, healthcare, or community development—useful tools in mission fields.
“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed.”
2 Timothy 2:15
3. Get Trained
Join a mission training program or Bible institute to gain knowledge in cross-cultural ministry, discipleship, and fieldwork. SIM and its partners provide orientation and capacity-building for aspiring missionaries.
4. Connect with a Sending Organization
Reach out to SIM (Salone Interior Missions) or other recognized mission agencies. They help guide, train, and deploy workers to various mission fields, ensuring accountability and support.
5. Raise Support and Build a Team
Missions is teamwork. Build a prayer and support network—individuals, churches, and partners who will walk with you through prayer, encouragement, and financial giving.
“How shall they preach unless they are sent?” Romans 10:15
6. Go and Serve Faithfully
Once prepared and commissioned, step into your mission field with humility and perseverance. Serve communities, share Christ’s love, and demonstrate the gospel in word and deed.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”
Matthew 28:19
